How Can severe Dizziness And Lower Abdominal Pain Be Treated?

Hi, I have taken an extra 2 thyroid tablets (100mg each) so basically I ve been taking 300mg a day for the last two weeks maybe and meant to have only been taking one. Just got my period today and the moment I got out of bed I felt faint and dizzy and had really bad lower stomach pains and felt nauseous. I took two panadol and don t feel nauseous or in pain now, but I still feel dizzy and faint whenever I stand up or walk. I feel my heart is going a bit too fast. My question is, should I take one 100mg today? I took one 100mg yesterday. I figure, I know that s the amount I need and I m fine on that amount so should probably still keep taking it but my normal amount so that I go back to balance. Not sure though. Does that sound like the right thing to do?

Hello,

It is important to take the thyroid medication in the recommended dose by the doctor. This is determined by the level of TSH in blood which your doctor should check regularly to monitor how you are doing and which is your dose.

I would say taking 2 extra tablets then recommended is not healthy and it is best that you go back to one tablet a day as it was prescribed.
If you have any symptoms or concerns you will need to talk to your doctor as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
